In recognition of its continued success and achievements, Forbes Middle East magazine has placed FGB 8th overall, and named it as the 4th leading bank (2nd in the UAE) in its ‘Top 500 companies in the Arab World’ rankings. The bank is also one of only 26 ranked organisations to have been honoured with an exclusive award within the banking category which was presented to FGB at a ceremony held in Dubai this week.
The ranking of the top 500 companies in the Arab world is based on an in-depth study into the market capitalisation, total revenue, net profit and total assets of companies listed on stock exchanges across the region and builds on Forbes' Global 2000 list, which highlights the most successful publically-listed companies across the globe.
The awards ceremony, held at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel as part of a gala dinner event, was organised by Forbes Middle East in partnership with investment banking firm, The Investor for Securities, to acknowledge the region’s most successful enterprises and companies that are cultivating homegrown Arab talent and contributing to the region’s success on the international stage.

The news follows two award-wins for FGB in both the 2014 Banker Middle East Industry and the 2014 Banker Middle East UAE Product Awards, along with recognition for the bank at the 2014 MENA Insurance Awards ceremony in January, where FGB was named ‘New Market Trailblazer of the Year’.
